Who Are We?

If you're looking for a safe, caring, fun place to care for your child after school After School @ St Luke's is just the place!

Established in 2005, After School @ St Luke's is a service of St Luke's Anglican Church and Anglican Care. St Luke's has been a part of Havelock North since 1874 and is involved in numerous social service and community-focused initiatives.

After School @ St Luke's is a fully approved and registered Out of School Care And Recreation (OSCAR) provider. As such we receive some government funding and are required to comply with strict rules and regulations and undergo
regular inspections.

We are committed to providing professional, caring and enjoyable care for the children of Havelock North.

When Are We Open?
After School @ St Luke's operates from 3.00-6.00pm on school days during Primary School Term times.

Who Do We Cater For?
As an OSCAR provider we offer professional care for children aged 5 – 14 years.

Our children mainly come from the schools in Havelock North. We offer pick-ups from these schools if required.

How Much Does It Cost?
We charge an hourly fee which is set and advertised at the beginning of every year. Please call our office to enquire about current fees.

A small charge fee is also charged for transport where children need to be picked up.

As an approved OSCAR provider we are able to offer WINZ subsidies to eligible families.

What Do We Do?
After School @ St Luke's
offers a wide variety of activiies to keep children interested, or just a quiet place to sit, read and / or do their homework.

We deliberately do not have computers or video games. At After School @ St Luke's children are encouraged to explore their creativity and learn to have fun together working cooperatively.

Occasionally we will go on excursions. These are always well supervised and there are strict health and safety guidelines for all activities.

The Church Stuff
We consider our church basis part of our ‘special character' and acknowledge it by saying or singing grace before afternoon tea, hearing stories from the Christian tradition at special times like Easter and Christmas and including some church material in our craft activities.

Please feel free to talk with our staff at any time about the activities your child is involved with.

School Holidays
In the first week of every school holiday period we offer a full-time programme for children both within and outside of After School @ St Luke's. In the Christmas / New Year break that programme usually happens later in January.

For more information about Holiday Programmes please talk to the Coordinator.
