STEWARDSHIP '08 - Protect Provide Progress
Our annual Stewardship Campaign kicks off next
week and all parishioners should be receiving letters soon. As part of this
year’s campaign we are running a series of three Stewardship Studies.
There are three different study groups to choose from (all discussing the
same questions) on Tuesday night, Wednesday afternoon or Thursday
night. If you would like to be involved please add your name to the sheet in
the foyer.
WHODUNNIT '08
Young people from throughout Hawke's Bay flooded into St Luke's on September 6th for the annual WHODUNNIT challenge. A mix of mystery-car rally-scavenger hunt, WHODUNNIT is always a great experience.
This year's event was won by 'The Awesome Foursome' from St Augustine's Napier.

In Memoriam - Revd David Dinniss
Sadly, our friend and former Vicar, The Revd David Dinniss, died peacefully at 2am on Wednesday 16th July 2008. David had been in a critical condition following a collapse the previous week.
We farewelled him at a packed service on Monday 21st July.
Please keep in your prayers David's wife, the Revd Ann Dinniss, and children, Andrew and Heather.
Go with God David.
May you rest in peace
and rise in glory.
Amen

Welcome to Our New Bishop!
St Luke's is happy to welcome our new Bishop, The Right Revd David Cappel Rice, and his family, Tracy, Ian and Zoe, to their new home in Havelock North.
The Capel Rice's arrived in early June and parishioners ensured the fridge and pantry were stocked with necessities (and a few luxuries) before they got here.
Following Bishop David's ordination and enthronement on June 7th the family have now left for three months overseas, during which he will attend the Lambeth Conference in England.
